Nairobi lies at 1o17’S and 36o50’E at and altitude
between 1500 and 1800 (Average 1650m).It has a rainfall of between 120cm in the
west and 50cm in the east with the most of it falling in the long rains,
usually from late March to June. June to August represent the cold,
cloudy season followed by a brighter transitional period in September and
October, Short rains in November and December and hotter dry season from

duration of the rains, and droughts, often severe, occur every few years.
