Summer in Kenya

This is a time i most appreciate seasons as they say in the west spring, summer, winter, Autumn and we say hot, rainy short rains, long rains, cold months, i love what we say because the word itself is a description of what to expect. I recall in November i had a chance to visit Mombasa and i went for a full day in south coast for dolphin tracking tour  being the adventure i stuck my hands out in the sun enjoying the UV rays got me better but it only showed a week later and my did i peel off my skin - i never applied any sunscreen so you can imagine. Later the same week i went to the moorings for an sun dower cruise and exposed my skin to the sun again, no sunscreen yet and i got more UV rays. Its over 1 month and half and yet my skin is still affected however, its peeling off slowly to recovery through intensive care. But you don't have to be like me i will give you some tips that will work when you come over to our beaches either in Mombasa, Malindi, Watamu and Lamu.
First check the weather using the Google weather checker on the bottom right of our website..but for now am on January..
Depending own which part of the country you are traveling to the weather parteners are different for example as it was hot in most parts of the country the highlands in the central and rift valley expereince the worst cold week which resulted to the tea plantations being destroyed by the cold mist and drying up -thus having no harvest at all. The people were dressed in thick warm jackets and although the sun was shinning it was of no effect at all - it was just cold.
In Nairobi and the beaches (Ocean Currents)  to which this article is directed to first, dress in cotton or linen fabric or a mixture but have cotton as the main. A hat will come in handy and dark sunglasses. Most hotels have swimming pools there fore sunscreen is a must i don't want to market a brand but nivea has the most effective of all sunscreens to even balance your ph while on the beach, ocean or swimming pool.
Avoid the direct sun between 1200hrs and 1530hrs always, either be under the shade in the hotel room, swimming pool, in the spa getting a massage or being pampered or in a vehicle on safari or doing something even sleep is better after a heavy breakfast.
Take a shower around 1630hrs to freshen up you skin and feel revitalized, energized, then leave for an evening sun downer view -simply amazing.
During the day take water, water and fruits and salads, fresh fruit juices......call on us to give you beach hotels that have the spa facilities in Mombasa and Malindi
